Thousands of children have seen their first ballet with Muncie Ballet Studio, MBS. Annually more than 1500
schoolchildren attend matinee productions as an introduction to classical dance, music and theatre.
The Children's Nutcracker is performed each December and each spring is welcomed with a new ballet based on a
classic tale. An original compilation of classical music accompanies each spring performance.
Muncie Ballet Studio was created in June 1991, as a 501c3, with a mission to promote classical dance and music.
Children have been dancing, with MBS for 18 years. By having children perform for children, many of the barriers of
classical dance and music are removed. In fact due to the commonality, the audience children are keenly interested and
receptive to the music and movement unfolding on the stage, creating audiences for today and supporters for tomorrow.
