A bun allows the dancer to concentrate
more effectively on class work.

Students dance and pay attention better
when their hair is worn appropriately for
class. For children with short hair, a
headband must be worn.

To Make A Ballet Bun
Make a ponytail at the back of the head
and secure with a ponytail holder.
Twist hair around the base of the ponytail,
securing now and then with bobby pins.

Place a hair net  around the bun and
secure with more bobby pins. When you
think you’re done, add 6-10 more bobby
pins.

Names must be placed in shoes and dance bags.
Arrival & departure a cover-up must be worn over dance attire.

For all girls a camisole style leotard in light pink or nude
is required for all performances.

SHOES Once week -Full sole ballet slippers
        Boys

Pre-pointe students should wear split sole ballet slippers which may be leather or canvas.

Pointe shoes may only be worn when students can demonstrate the required technique.

Never attempt to purchase and use Pointe shoes without permission from your teacher.  Hands on instruction is the only way to safely learn
Pointe technique.

Students should use good quality ballet shoes. Muncie Ballet will offer ballet slippers & ballet tights in our new boutique. Payless and Brinkmans
carry ballet slippers as well. Pointe shoes must be fitted and a large variety of shoes to try on will ensure the correct fit. I recommend Kenney
Dance wear in Indy for Pointe shoes.
